Christmas 2011

We are really lucky that this year we haven't any snow - yet! Business has been good and we have some new lines in beer and wine kits and hardware. If you are looking to spend some Christmas money a great buy is the Bottle Drainer @ £18.55 which holds 80 bottles and avoids trying to stand them upside down in the sink! We shall be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day but otherwise open our usual hours and look forward to seeing all our customers. Meanwhile Merry Christmas to you all!!

Cider or Just Juice?

We now have the electric fruit crusher available for hire with the manual press at £20.00 per day. Please book early to avoid disappointment as the new crusher is proving very popular.

We have good news for everyone who hires our fruit crusher and press - we hope to have an ELECTRIC crusher available for hire by the end of August. We are taking bookings now for fruit crusher and press hire so please contact us soon if you are interested as they are very popular!

Summer Blog

Thank you to everyone who attended our Homebrew & Food Fair at Etal Village Hall yesterday 5th June. The event was a great success in a perfect location and we can highly recommend the hall as a venue. We received such tremendous support from Ford & Etal Estate's tourism administrator on their website and also from Richard Baker who runs the Lavender Tearooms in Etal.
It was great to meet so many new customers and all the other traders had a successful day. The raffle raised £174 which will go towards running The Raven Trust's community projects in Malawi.
We look forward to seeing all the homebrewers and winemakers again soon in our shop at The Brew Barn just outside Coldingham village - remember to use the discount on your blue tickets by 3rd July.

Easter blog

We are really enjoying this wonderful sunny April weather at the Brew Barn and have recently welcomed several new winemaking and brewing customers. We shall not be closed on the upcoming public holidays and shall be open for business as usual on Good Friday, Easter Monday, Royal Wedding day (29th) and 2nd May. If you would like to set up a new brew or make a wine kit or just pop in for a chat and to see what we have in stock we shall look forward to seeing you. Please note that at present we have Munton's 'Gold' all malt beer kits at 10% off while stocks last so if you just needed that little extra incentive, there it is! We are busy planning our Homebrew & Food Fair at Etal Village Hall on 5th June, when there will be several Borders food producers offering lots of delicious foods to accompany beer and wine, a raffle and competition and expert advice available on mashing from grain - in fact a really good day out! Make a note in your diary and we look forward to seeing you there. There will be further details about the show on our website in due course.

Winter post 2011

Now that spring is on its way we have a new product on our shelf from the Milestone Brewery - Raspberry Wheat Beer - a continental style fruit beer which we hope will be popular with our customers. Please also make a note in your diaries for our Homebrew & Food Fair to be held on Sunday 5th June at Etal Village Hall.
